New Crypto Widgets: Order Flow and Volume Delta

See What Smart Money Is Doing

Price charts show you what happened. Order flow shows you why it happened — the actual trades driving the move.

We have just added two crypto-specific widgets that give you visibility into the mechanics behind price action: Order Flow and Volume Delta.

Order Flow: Track Large Trades in Real-Time

The Order Flow widget monitors the live trade tape and highlights unusually large transactions.

What It Shows

Large Buys (green): Trades significantly larger than average that hit the ask price. When someone is paying market price to buy a large amount, they are not trying to get a deal — they want in now.

Large Sells (red): Trades significantly larger than average that hit the bid. Aggressive selling often precedes further downside.

Time & Sales: A live feed of recent trades showing price, size, and direction. Larger trades are highlighted for quick identification.

How to Use It

  1. Watch for clusters. One big trade is noise. Three or four in quick succession is a signal.
  2. Compare to price action. Price falling but large buys appearing? Someone is accumulating.
  3. Note levels where large trades occur. These often become support or resistance.

Volume Delta: Measure Buy/Sell Pressure Over Time

While Order Flow shows individual trades, Volume Delta tracks the cumulative imbalance between buying and selling pressure.

What It Shows

Buy Volume: Total volume that traded at the ask price (aggressive buyers).

Sell Volume: Total volume that traded at the bid price (aggressive sellers).

Current Delta: The difference between buy and sell volume. Positive = more buying pressure, negative = more selling pressure.

Cumulative Delta (CVD): A running total of delta over time. This reveals the underlying trend of buying vs selling that is not visible from price alone.

The Power of Divergences

The most actionable signals come from divergences between price and CVD:

  • Bullish Divergence: Price makes lower lows, but CVD makes higher lows. Hidden buying is occurring — potential reversal up.
  • Bearish Divergence: Price makes higher highs, but CVD makes lower highs. Hidden selling is occurring — potential reversal down.

Best Used Together

Order Flow and Volume Delta complement each other:

  • Order Flow gives you the real-time detail — what is happening right now
  • Volume Delta gives you the context — what is the overall pressure over time

Spot a cluster of large buys in Order Flow, then check if CVD confirms the buying pressure is building. That is a stronger signal than either alone.

Both widgets are available for crypto pairs on Nydar.
